Los estudios de la historia de la edición concluyen que los grandes cambios, que muchos denominan como «segunda revolución del libro», se producen en las primeras décadas del siglo XIX. En este artículo se analizan los cortes cronológicos, no coincidentes, y las características materiales del libro (como objeto bibliográfico) desde los postulados de la bibliografía material, que sirven para la distinción entre el «libro de la imprenta manual» y el «libro de la imprenta industrial».
The studies of the publishing history conclude that the great changes, named «the second book revolution» by many people, take place in the first decades of the 19th century. In this article the chronological divisions, non coincident, and the material features of the book are analysed (as a bibliographical object) from the postulates of the analytical bibliography, that are used to differentiate between the «hand printed book» and the «industrial printed book».
