El presente texto tiene como objetivo estudiar la influencia del relato europeo de posguerra en la redefinición del proyecto nacional español tras el fin de la dictadura y en la construcción de la narrativa hegemónica de la España democrática, coincidiendo con la creación de una nueva y europeizante identidad española a partir del ingreso en las Comunidades Europeas. Sin embargo, tres décadas después muchas cosas han cambiado, pero es posible que pocas tan trascendentes desde el punto de vista emocional como la misma consideración del proceso de transición en relación con el relato europeo de España.
This article addresses how an established narrative concerning the nature of post-war Europe contributed to the redefinition of the Spanish nation following the end of the dictatorship. It aided in the construction of the hegemonic narrative of democratic Spain, coinciding with the creation of a new «Europeanizing» identity that accompanied the country’s entrance into the European Community. Three decades later many things have changed. However, from an emotional point of view, it is possible that few have been so transcendent as the consideration of the Transition process in relation to the European narrative of Spain.
