En esta contribución, analizamos las características y objetivos de la política cultural de Alemania en relación con España en la etapa desde la Primera Guerra Mundial hasta el final de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Tomamos como modelo la actuación de la Sociedad Germano-Española de Berlín (DSG). Esta sociedad constituyó entre 1930 y 1945 uno de los principales ejes de las relaciones culturales bilaterales. Estudiamos los orígenes e historia de dicha sociedad: sus dirigentes e integrantes y sus relaciones, sus actividades y su incidencia en Alemania y España, sus vínculos con diferentes instancias culturales, políticas y estatales, y la evolución de sus estrategias y objetivos en el transcurso de los diferentes regímenes políticos, que hubo en Alemania y en España a lo largo de su existencia.
In this contribution we analyze the characteristics and aims of German cultural politics in relation to Spain in the period between the First World War and the end of the Second World War. We take as a model the German-Spanish Association in Berlin (DSG). Between 1930 and 1945 this association was one of the main axes of the cultural relations between both countries. We analyze the origins and history of the DSG: its directors and members, its relations, its activities and its impact in Germany and Spain, its links with different cultural, political and official institutions, and the evolution of its strategies and objectives in the course of the different political regimes of Germany and Spain.
